P90X - How To Make Working Out Fun Again

If you're like me, the same workout day in and day out can become about as interesting and fun as brushing your teeth, not so much fun. You continue with your home workout program because you know that it's important to your health and vitality but it has become a chore. Fitness isn't supposed to be a chore! It's supposed to be fun and energizing. Home workout programs like P90X are a great solution to the fitness doldrums.

When fitness is fun, when working out is fun, your body responds better. You workout with more energy and enthusiasm which results in bigger, stronger, better muscles and faster fat burning. When you workout like you just want to get it over with, thats what you do, you simply get it over with. Your body doesnt respond half as well. Dont let that happen to you!

Here are three tips to make your home workout fun again:

Tip #1 Variety is the spice of life. Many athletes have a bit of a type A personality. This desire for structure and routine means that the fun often gets forgotten. For example, a typical home workout may consist of 45 minutes on the treadmill one day and the next day an hour on your yoga mat, and the weekend is devoted to rock climbing, mountain biking or some other weekend warrior type activity. No spontaneity, no fun, nothing new to challenge their mind or spirit. Not that being type A is all bad, its certainly easier to motivate yourself to workout if your fitness program is scheduled into your day, right between morning coffee and brushing your teeth.

Heres where P90X helps both the type A fitness personality and the type B fitness personality. P90X challenges the most regimented, type A, fitness personalities by offering a fitness challenge unlike any other. Each of the 12 motivational workouts is structured to increase muscle strength without fatigue. For the type A personality means a structured program designed for optimal fitness.

For the type B personality P90X means 12 different workouts to keep things interesting! Plus P90X offers motivational tools like a fitness calendar and online support tools. If youre bored with your workouts, its the perfect solution no matter what type of person you are.

Tip #2 Add a new challenge. Challenges help motivate us to reach our fitness goals. For a runner they might challenge themselves to run a faster 5K or to complete a marathon. A weight lifter or body builder might challenge themselves to compete in a body building or fitness contest. A person striving to attain optimal fitness, lose weight, or attain the perfect beach body can challenge themselves to complete the P90X program. Believe me, its a real challenge and not for the faint at heart.

As with striving to reach any goal, whether its to lose weight, quit smoking, or make more money, its important to have a plan. P90X comes with a structured plan, calendar, nutrition guide, and a motivational video for those tough days.

Tip #3 Strive for a different body. Its amazing how our bodies respond to different workout programs. Spend a couple months on your yoga mat and youll see a noticeable difference in your posture and the length of your muscles. Spend a few months working out with hip hop abs and youll be able to bounce a quarter off your stomach. Striving for a different body is exhilarating, especially when you see results starting to happen. Spend a couple of months with P90X and youll have a complete body makeover top to bottom, theres no avoiding it!
